(ANNOUNCER)>> TODAY WE'RE
TAKING OUR 1971 CHEVY C-10 OUT FOR A TEST DRIVE WITH
IT'S NEWLY INSTALLED LQ FOUR SIX LITER VEIGHT.
BUT FIRST WE'RE DOING A LITTLE SUSPENSION MAINTENANCE BEFORE WE HIT THE ROAD. IT'S ALL TODAY HERE ON TRUCKS.
(RYAN)>> HEY GUYS, WELCOME TO TRUCKS. TODAY WE'VE GOT OUR '71 C-10 BACK IN THE SHOP. NOW THE LAST TIME WE WERE WORKING ON THIS THING, WELL WE HAD JUST FIRED UP OUR RECENTLY SWAPPED IN SIX
LITER AND STARTED RIGHT UP, EVERYTHING WENT GREAT. AND NOW WE'RE ANXIOUS TO DRIVE IT SO WE CAN COMPARE HOW IT DOES WITH THE FUEL INJECTED LQ FOUR VERSUS THE CARBURETED 454 BIG BLOCK THAT CAME IN THE TRUCK WHEN WE GOT IT. NOW IN ORDER FOR US TO DO THAT, WE'VE OBVIOUSLY GOT SOME WORK TO DO.
(KEVIN)>> NOW WE'RE BOTH STOKED ABOUT GETTING TO DRIVE THIS TRUCK AGAIN, AND PERSONALLY I'VE BEEN PLEASANTLY SURPRISED AT JUST HOW SIMPLE IT IS TO BOLT IN MODERN LS POWER INTO A VINTAGE CHASSIS. NOW IF YOU REMEMBER, WHEN WE FIRST GOT OUR HANDS ON THIS TRUCK, WELL THERE'S NO OTHER WAY TO PUT IT OTHER THAN IT HANDLED LIKE A MARSHMALLOW.
(RYAN)>> ALRIGHT, THIS THING OBVIOUSLY PUSHES, OH GOSH! THE STEERING IS... I WAS GONNA SAY KINDA TIGHT.
(KEVIN)>> SO TO HELP TAKE CARE OF THAT PROBLEM AS WELL AS SOME OTHER ISSUES THAT WE'RE HAVING WE CALLED UP OUR FRIENDS AT LMC TRUCK AND HAD THEM SEND US SOME REPLACEMENT PARTS, INCLUDING THIS URETHANE SWAY BAR BUSHING SET THAT SHOULD HELP CONTROL A LOT OF THAT BODY ROLL. NOW WE ALSO HAD TO HAVE A CUSTOM DRIVE SHAFT MADE. SO WE CALLED UP DENNY AT DENNY'S DRIVESHAFTS AND
HE FIXED US UP LIKE HE USUALLY DOES. THE OTHER THING WE'VE GOT TO CONSIDER IS THE COOLING SYSTEM.
NOW WE WERE ABLE TO REUSE THE VINTAGE RADIATOR AND USE IN CONJUNCTION WITH SOME OF THE MODERN HOSES. AND WE'LL SHOW YOU HOW TO DO THAT. THE OTHER THING, WELL WE'VE GOT THE STOCK STEERING COLUMN IN THIS TRUCK AND A MODERN FOURL-80 TRANSMISSION. WE'LL SHOW YOU HOW TO HOOK THOSE TWO TOGETHER. THE OTHER THING WE HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH IS TO GET RID OF THIS FACTORY RESONATOR. IT KINDA LOOKS LIKE A SESAME STREET CHARACTER, AND MAYBE GO WITH SOMETHING A LITTLE MORE ATTRACTIVE. DISASSEMBLY IS KIND OF THE FUN PART AND IT'S PRETTY
STRAIGHT FORWARD. SO WE WON'T BORE YOU WITH THE DETAILS. JUST REMEMBER TO KEEP UP WITH YOUR HARDWARE. CHECK OUT THE OLD BUSHINGS, THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY SHOT. IT'S NO WONDER THIS TRUCK HAD A LOT OF BODY ROLL. WITH THE NEW URETHANE BUSHINGS WE WON'T HAVE NEARLY AS MUCH DEFLECTION, AND WITH THE GREASE THAT'S INCLUDED IN THE BUSHING KIT IT WON'T SQUEAK EITHER. TWO OF THE STRAPS HAVE A GREASESERT BUILT INTO THEM AND THEY GO INTO THE FRAME MOUNTS.
NOW IT'S IMPORTANT TO MATCH THE STRAP TO THE BUSHING WITH THE HOLE IN IT SO THEY CAN BE SERVICED DOWN THE ROAD. HERE'S WHERE SAVING THE ORIGINAL HARDWARE COMES IN HANDY BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO REUSE IT.
THE NEW DENNY'S DRIVESHAFT IS A HYBRID IN THE SENSE THAT IT MATCHES THE FOURL-80'S OUTPUT SHAFT AND THE ORIGINAL 12 BOLT REAR AXLE. THIS IS A HIGH SPEED BALANCE SHAFT. SO WE SHOULDN'T HAVE ANY VIBRATION ISSUES OR STRENGTH PROBLEMS.
(RYAN)>> NOW THE EXHAUST SYSTEM THAT CAME ON THIS TRUCK WAS POINTING TO RIGHT WHERE THE FUEL TANK SITS NOW. IT'S NOT REALLY A GOOD IDEA TO PREHEAT THE FUEL LIKE THAT. PLUS WE ALSO HAD TO ADAPT IT TO OUR VEIGHT THAT WE SWAPPED IN. SO WE SIMPLY MADE SOME DOWN PIPES COMING FROM THE STOCK MANIFOLDS TO CONNECT TO THESE CHAMBERED MUFFLERS THAT WE REUSED SINCE THEY'RE IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE AND GOT PLENTY OF LIFE LEFT IN THEM.
NOW WE ALSO HAD TO ADD A COUPLE OF OTWO SENSOR BUNGS
BECAUSE WELL WE NEED OTWO SENSORS FOR OUR EFI. NOW TO CONNECT OUR COLUMN SHIFT MECHANISM TO OUR NEW SWAPPED IN FOUR SPEED WE'RE USING A SHIFT LINKAGE ADAPTER FROM LOKAR. NOW TO ADAPT OUR ORIGINAL POWER STEERING BOX TO OUR NEW POWER STEERING PUMP, WELL WE SIMPLY USED THE PRESSURE HOSES FROM EACH ONE, CUT THEM IN THE MIDDLE, AND HAD THE LOCAL PARTS STORE CRIMP ON A COUPLE OF HYDRAULIC FITTINGS. BY USING THE STYLE OF FITTING THAT NEEDS TO BE TIGHTENED UP, WELL WE CAN INDEX THE HOSES WHERE WE WANT, TIGHTEN EVERYTHING DOWN, AND LOCK INTO POSITION. THAT WAY WE DON'T HAVE TO MARK OUR HOSES INDEPENDENTLY
AND HOPE THAT THE PARTS STORE KEEPS
EVERYTHING LINED UP RIGHT. NOW ON THE RETURN SIDE WE WERE ABLE TO USE THE POWER STEERING COOLER THAT THE DONOR TRUCK PROVIDED, BONUS.
(KEVIN)>> HEY, WELCOME BACK TO TRUCKS. WELL WE'RE ALMOST READY TO PUT THE DOG HOUSE BACK ON THE C-10. BUT WHILE WE WERE LOOKING AT THE PARTS WE NOTICED A COUPLE OF THINGS, CHECK IT OUT. THESE ARE THE ORIGINAL INNER FENDERS, AND LOOKING AT IT WITH THE HOOD OPEN, YOU NEVER SAW ANY OF THIS STUFF CAUSE THAT'S HIDDEN BY THE FENDER. THAT'S RUST THROUGH, THIS IS RUST THROUGH. DOWN HERE, WELL IT'S PIN HOLED, IT'S RUSTED AWAY, AND THIS ONE ISN'T IN ANY BETTER SHAPE. HERE'S ANOTHER THING WE NOTICED. THIS IS THE BATTERY BOX. NOW THIS IS FAIRLY TYPICAL FOR A VEHICLE THAT AGE CAUSE THESE PARTS WEREN'T VERY WELL PROTECTED FROM THE FACTORY. THIS, FORTUNATELY FOR US, IS A BOLT IN PIECE AS ARE THE INNER FENDERS, AND THEY'RE EASY TO REPLACE. NOW THE BATTERY BOX IS HEAVY GAUGE CONSTRUCTION AND IS ECOATED. SO IT'LL HELP TO PROTECT AGAINST SOME OF THAT CORROSION THAT HAPPENED WITH THE ORIGINAL. THE SAME AS THE INNER FENDERS. THEY'RE GREAT STAMPINGS AND THEY'LL BOLT RIGHT IN. WE PICKED THESE PARTS UP FROM LMC TRUCK BUT
THEY'RE NOT QUITE READY TO GO IN YET. WE'VE STILL GOT A LITTLE BIT OF WORK TO DO. NOW THERE IS NO WAY I'M PUTTING THOSE BRAND NEW
PARTS INTO AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT THAT LOOKS LIKE THIS, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S SO EASY TO MAKE
IT ALL LOOK BRAND NEW.
HERE'S ANOTHER POINT, THESE POCKETS, THERE'S ONE ON EACH SIDE, IT'S A RUST ZONE. WE DIDN'T HAVE ANY RUST BUT THERE WAS STILL A BUNCH OF JUNK DOWN IN THERE, CHECK IT OUT. THE POINT IS ALL OF THAT STUFF COLLECTS MOISTURE, AND THAT'S GONNA CAUSE YOU PROBLEMS, NEVER MIND A RATTLE, THAT YOU'RE NEVER GONNA FIND. I'M USING A RED SCUFFING PAD TO PREP THE INSIDES OF THESE FENDERS. NOW THERE'S A GOOD CHANCE THAT A LOT OF THIS AREA WON'T EVER BE SEEN ONCE THESE PANELS ARE BACK ON THE TRUCK, BUT YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF TO DO A THOROUGH PREP JOB JUST BECAUSE. YOU CAN PUSH THE RED PADS INTO ALL THE NOOKS AND CRANNIES, MAKING THEM BETTER THAN SAND PAPER. JUST WATCH YOUR FINGERS ON THOSE SHARP EDGES. DUPLICOLOR MAKES A REALLY HANDY PREP WIPE. WE'RE USING THAT TO GET THE BIGGEST CHUNKS OF THE DUST AND DEBRIS OFF OF THESE INNER FENDERS, AS WELL AS ELIMINATE ANY CONTAMINATION THAT MIGHT BE HANGING AROUND FROM ENGINE FLUIDS OR TIRE DRESSINGS, OR WHAT HAVE YOU.
THE PRO SHOP TOWEL WILL SHOW YOU HOW MUCH GUNK WE'RE GETTING OFF OF THE PANELS, AND WHY YOU SHOULD WIPE DOWN IN THE FIRST PLACE SO YOUR PAINT DOESN'T GO OVER THE TOP OF THAT STUFF. PAYING ATTENTION TO THE SIMPLE STEPS LIKE CLEANING AND SCUFFING, WELL THAT'S WHAT MAKES A PROFESSIONAL LOOKING JOB IN THE FIRST PLACE. BEFORE I PAINT I'M GONNA PUT A LIGHT COAT OF THIS LOCTITE RUST CONVERTER ON THIS SURFACE RUST SO THE PAINT STICKS. THE CONVERTER SPRAY DOES JUST THAT. IT CONVERTS THE SURFACE RUST TO A ZINC PHOSPHATE, WHICH CAN BE SCUFFED AND PAINTED ONCE IT'S DRY. EVEN THOUGH WE'RE USING DUPLICOLOR RATTLE CANS, THE OVERSPRAY CAN STILL MAKE A MESS. SO WE'RE GONNA PROTECT THE OUTSIDE OF THE FENDERS WITH SOME MASKING PAPER AND TAPE.
NOW MASKING IS NOT JUST ABOUT COVERING UP. IT ALSO ALLOWS YOU TO TAKE A FINAL INSPECTION OF THE AREAS THAT YOU SANDED TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYTHING IS PREPPED PROPERLY. NOW HERE IS A SELF ETCHING PRIMER THAT'S GOING TO GO ON THE CONVERTED RUST AS WELL AS THE EXPOSED BARE STEEL. THIS IS A LIGHT COAT AND IT OFFERS A TIE COATING FOR THE PAINT THAT GOES ON TOP OF IT. A LITTLE BIT OF COMPRESSED AIR GETS ALL THE DUST OUT OF THE CRACKS AND FORCES ANY SOLVENTS DRY.
THE FIRST COAT IN SEMIGLOSS BLACK IS A LIGHT COAT. AND BY THE TIME YOU FINISH YOUR AREA YOU CAN COME BACK AND IT'S DRY ENOUGH TO DO A FAT WET COAT THE SECOND TIME AROUND. NOW IF YOU'RE DOING A FULL ON RESTORATION YOU PROBABLY WANT TO DISASSEMBLE ALL THE COMPONENTS OF THE FRONT END. BUT IF YOU'RE JUST FRESHENING UP LIKE US, THEN LEAVING THE DOG HOUSE ASSEMBLED SAVES YOU A LITTLE BIT OF TIME. BUT IT CAN BE A LITTLE TRICKY IN PUTTING YOUR INNER FENDERS IN. YOU'VE GOT TO LIFT ONE CORNER UP AND HAVE YOUR LEFT
LEG IN THE AIR AND HOLD YOUR MOUTH JUST RIGHT. NOW WE'RE TRYING TO BE CAREFUL AND NOT SCRATCH THE PAINT, BUT WITH THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF WIGGLING AND CAREFUL SETTING EVERYTHING FALLS INTO PLACE EVENTUALLY.
A SITUATION LIKE THIS IT'S REALLY GOOD TO HAVE AN EXTRA SET OF HANDS.
WHILE RYAN HOLDS THE FENDER UP, I'M TRYING TO STRUGGLE WITH THE INNER FENDER GETTING IT OVER THE WHEEL AND UNDERNEATH THE RADIATOR SUPPORT. THAT'S IT.
(RYAN)>> THAT'S IT, JUST LIKE THAT.
(KEVIN)>> ALRIGHT, DID YOU CATCH THAT?
(RYAN)>> YEAH, ALRIGHT, SWEET.
(KEVIN)>> REALLY.
(RYAN)>> YEAH, GOOD!
(RYAN)>> HEY GUYS, WELCOME BACK TO THE SHOP WHERE WE'RE JUST ABOUT READY TO TAKE OUR SIX LITER SWAPPED '71 C-10 OUT ON THE ROAD FOR A LITTLE TEST DRIVE. BUT BEFORE WE DO THAT WE WANTED TO SHOW YOU THE COMPLETED CONVERSION. IT TURNED OUT KIND OF CLEAN.
NOW WE'VE GOT THE WIRING TIED TOGETHER, THE PCM MOUNTED BEHIND THE HEADLIGHT. WE'VE GOT OUR POWER STEERING HOSE ON, UPPER RADIATOR HOSE TIED RIGHT INTO THE ORIGINAL RADIATOR. THIS THING IS THICK ENOUGH TO COOL OFF A KENWORTH, SO IT OUGHT TO BE FINE FOR OUR LQ FOUR. NOW WE WANTED TO KEEP THE BATTERY IN ITS ORIGINAL LOCATION SO WE MADE UP OUR CABLES TO SUPPLY POWER AND GROUND. NOW THE COLD AIR INTAKE WAS A LITTLE BIT OF A CHALLENGE BECAUSE WE WANTED TO MAINTAIN OR KEEP THE FACTORY FAN CLUTCH FOR THE SAKE OF SIMPLICITY. SO WE WENT TO AIRAID AND PICKED UP ONE OF THEIR OFF
THE SHELF COLD AIR INTAKE KITS DESIGNED TO FIT AN '01 SILVERADO. USED A FLEX COUPLER SO WE COULD KICK THE CONE FILTER OFF AT A LITTLE BIT OF AN ANGLE. THEN KEVIN FABBED UP A PRETTY SLICK BRACKET TO PIN IT DOWN TO THE FENDER WELL. AND WELL THAT PRETTY MUCH CONCLUDES THE TOUR OF THE ENGINE BAY. LETS MAKE SOME NOISE WITH THIS THING, GO FOR A LITTLE DRIVE.
NOW IT'S SAFE TO ASSUME THAT OUR MODERN LQ FOUR SIX LITER ENGINE OUT OF AN '01 SIERRA IS PROBABLY DOWN A LITTLE BIT IN THE POWER AND TORQUE DEPARTMENT IN COMPARISON TO THE HIGH COMPRESSION BIG BLOCK 454 THAT CAME OUT OF THIS TRUCK. BUT FROM BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL IT'S KINDA HARD TO TELL.
THIS THING FLAT OUT MOVES AND IT SOUNDS GREAT DOING SO. PLUS WE'VE GOT THE ADDED BONUS OF THE OVERDRIVE TRANSMISSION LETTING US CRUISE DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT A REASONABLE RPM AND SIP AS LITTLE FUEL AS POSSIBLE UNTIL YOU PUT YOUR FOOT IN IT. [ engine revving ]
(RYAN)>> YEAH WE DIDN'T DYNO THE OLD
454 OR THIS ONE, BUT I'D SAY WE'RE DOWN A LITTLE BIT ON POWER, BUT WE CAN PROBABLY FIX THAT.
(KEVIN)>> I THINK WE CAN PROBABLY FIX THAT, YEAH. NOW WHAT WE'RE REFERRING TO IS THE INCREDIBLE POTENTIAL THAT COMES WITH AN LQ FOUR OR ANY LS SWAP FOR THAT MATTER. THERE'S AN INDUSTRY WRAPPED AROUND THE LS ENGINE SWAP AND IT'S ALMOST A REVOLUTION, FROM BOLT ON PRODUCTS TO HIGH ENGINEERED RACE PRODUCTS. SO WHAT WE'RE GONNA DO NEXT FALLS SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN, AND YOU MAY WANT TO KEEP WATCHING TRUCKS.
(RYAN)>> NOW OUR LATE MODEL ENGINE DID MODERNIZE THIS ENTIRE TRUCK.
WE DON'T HAVE ANY FUEL SMELLS, CARBURETOR STUMBLING ISSUES, OR COLD START ISSUES, BUT THE REST OF THE TRUCK IS KINDA STILL STUCK IN 1971. SO WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT. THERE'S NO MISTAKING THOUGH THAT WE'RE IN A 40 YEAR OLD TRUCK.
(KEVIN)>> YEAH, NO KIDDING. LIKE WE'RE IN A 45 GALLON DRUM WITH A WINDSHIELD AND WHEELS.
(RYAN)>> WHAT?
(KEVIN)>> WHAT?
THE MODERN DRIVETRAINS HAS GOT US BOTH PRETTY INSPIRED ABOUT FOLLOWING THROUGH WITH THE REST OF THE TRUCK, IN PARTICULAR SOME OF THE AGED COMPONENTS AND FLAT OUT WORN
OUT PARTS THAT NEED REPLACING ON THIS CHASSIS. NOW THE FRONT SWAY BAR BUSHINGS THAT WE'VE REPLACED WITH THE MODERN URETHANE COMPOUND, WELL IT REALLY HELPED. BUT GETTING THE LOOK UNDERNEATH, WELL THERE'S A HOMEMADE LOWERING KIT AND EVERYTHING ELSE. WE JUST HAVE TO IS AS WORN OUT AS THOSE SWAY BAR BUSHINGS, AND THE CAB BUSHINGS, AND THE SPRINGS, AND THE BALL JOINTS, AND THE TIE ROD ENDS, AND THE IDLER ARM, AND THE PITMAN ARM.
(RYAN)>> NOW THAT SOUNDS LIKE A LOT, BUT PARTS FOR THESE TRUCKS ARE BOTH AFFORDABLE AND EASY TO FIND. SO A COMPLETE OVERHAUL OF THE CHASSIS ISN'T OUT OF THE QUESTION. AND DURING THE REBUILD WE CAN MAKE SOME COST EFFECTIVE IMPROVEMENTS AS WELL. NOW THE CLASSIC STYLING OF THIS PICK UP TRUCK SEEMS TO BE EVERYBODY'S FAVORITE. EVERYWHERE WE WENT PEOPLE WANTED TO LOOK AT THE TRUCK, SMOKE IT OVER, AND JUST PLAIN CHECK IT OUT CAUSE THEY THOUGHT IT WAS PRETTY COOL. SPEAKING OF WHICH, OUR GIANT OLD SCHOOL RADIATOR KEPT OUR LQ FOUR RUNNING NICE AND COOL. AND THAT COMBINED WITH THE OLD SCHOOL CLUTCH STYLE MECHANICAL FAN SAVED US FROM BUYING ELECTRIC FANS OR A CUSTOM RADIATOR.
(KEVIN)>> HEY WELCOME BACK. WELL THE OLD C-10 DID GREAT OUT ON THE ROAD AND IT STAYED COOL ALL DAY LONG DESPITE OUR HEAVY FOOT AND LOSING TRACTION AND COUPLE OF TIMES. AND WE THING IT MADE ALMOST AS MUCH POWER AS THE OLD BIG BLOCK THAT WE PULLED OUT OF IT, BUT WHAT IT DIDN'T MAKE UP FOR IN POWER IT MADE UP FOR IN DRIVABILITY. AND IT DID SOMETHING THAT BIG BLOCK COMBO COULD NEVER DO, AND THAT IS DRIVE ON THE INTERSTATE AT
SPEED WITH A LOW RPM. SO THAT'S GONNA TAKE THE PREVIOUS NINE MILES PER
GALLON WE GOT OUT OF THE THIS THING AND VIRTUALLY DOUBLE IT, JUST LIKE THE LATE MODEL VEHICLE THAT WE PULLED THE DRIVETRAIN OUT OF.
NOW WE TOLD YOU A COUPLE OF TIMES THIS IS ONE OF THE EASIEST SWAPS THAT WE'VE EVER DONE, BUT SOMETIMES EASY IS NOT CHEAP. WELL IN THIS CASE IT WASN'T VERY EXPENSIVE EITHER. SO HERE'S A BIT OF A COST BREAK DOWN SHOWING YOU WHAT WE SPENT TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN.
(RYAN)>> OUR SALVAGE YARD SIX LITER ENGINE COMPLETE WITH WIRING HARNESS AND PCM WAS $1,800 BUCKS. THE FOURL-80-E FOUR SPEED AUTO WAS $1,100. TO HAVE OUR WIRING HARNESS TRIMMED DOWN AND THE PCM REFLASHED SET US BACK $400 BUCKS. THE COLD AIR INTAKE, I FIGURE ABOUT $325 FOR THAT. THE DRIVESHAFT WAS $450, THE FUEL TANK WAS $200, AND THE FUEL PUMP WAS ANOTHER $150 DOLLARS. PLUS ADD ANOTHER $400 BUCKS FOR THINGS LIKE THE SHIFT LINKAGE, ENGINE SET BACK PLATES, FUEL LINES, AND OTHER MISCELLANEOUS HARDWARE. THAT GIVES US A TOTAL OF $4,825 DOLLARS. SO FOR LESS THAN $5,000 DOLLARS WE'VE GOT A NEW DRIVETRAIN IN OUR OLD TRUCK.
AND IF YOU'RE REALLY PINCHING PENNIES, WE COULD PICK UP THE MORE COMMON FIVETHREE FOURL-60 COMBO FOR CHEAPER, SHOP AROUND FOR A USED DRIVESHAFT THAT'LL FIT, AND PIECE TOGETHER THE REST OF THE PARTS ON THE CHEAP. I BET YOU COULD GET THIS SWAP DONE FOR ABOUT $2,500 BUCKS. NOW AS THE TRUCK SITS WE COULD DRIVE IT EVERYDAY, NO PROBLEM, BUT THE MODERN DRIVETRAIN KINDA SHOWED US THAT THE REST OF THE TRUCK IS A LITTLE BIT OLD AND WORN OUT.
SO I THINK WE'RE GONNA KEEP IT AROUND FOR A WHILE AND MAKE A FEW MORE UPGRADES. NOW IF YOU DRIVE AN '07 TO '11 JEEP WRANGLER, WELL THEN YOU PROBABLY ALREADY KNOW IT COULD USE A LITTLE BIT OF HELP IN THE POWER DEPARTMENT. WELL RUSTY'S OFF ROAD PRODUCTS HAS YOU COVERED WITH THESE FLOW DADDY HEADERS. THESE MANDREL BENT 409 STAINLESS STEEL HEADERS WILL MAXIMIZE EXHAUST FLOW AND PERFORMANCE. THEY FEATURE THICK LASER CUT FLANGES THAT WON'T WARP, AND THEY'RE FULLY POLISHED FOR A NICE LOOK. EVEN GOT A BUILT IN HEAT SHIELD TO PROTECT SOME
OF THE OTHER ITEMS UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. SO FOR ABOUT $250 BUCKS RUSTY'S OFF ROAD CAN HELP YOU BUMP UP THE PERFORMANCE OF YOUR THREE POINT
EIGHT LITER VSIX. NOW IF A FLATHEAD VEIGHT IS MORE YOUR SPEED, WELL CHECK
OUT THIS SLINGSHOT INTAKE MANIFOLD FROM EDELBROCK.
THIS IS A REPRODUCTION OF THE ORIGINAL INTAKE MANIFOLD DESIGNED BY VIC EDELBROCK SENIOR WAY BACK IN 1938, AND
IT'LL FIT '38 TO '48 FORD AND MERCURY ENGINES. THIS ONE IS TOPPED OFF WITH A PAIR OF EDELBROCK 94 CARBURETORS FOR A PERIOD CORRECT LOOK. AND JUST LIKE YOU'VE COME TO EXPECT FROM EDELBROCK, WELL
THESE ARE AMERICAN MADE HOT ROD PARTS. NOW DUPLICOLOR IS CONSTANTLY UPGRADING THEIR
COLOR LIBRARY, AND THEY'VE GOT A COUPLE OF NEW FLAVORS. THEIR PAINT SHOP SYSTEM NOW INCLUDES CHAMPAGNE GOLD
METALLIC AND MOLTEN RED METALLIC. NOW THESE ARE BOTH LACQUERS READY TO SPRAY RIGHT OUT OF THE CAN. SO YOU KNOW YOU'RE GONNA GET CONSISTENT RESULTS.
SO IF YOU'VE GOT A PAINT PROJECT COMING UP, WELL CHECK OUT SOME OF THE OPTIONS AVAILABLE FROM DUPLICOLOR. NOW IF YOU'VE GOT ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT ANY OF THESE
PRODUCTS OR ANYTHING WE DID ON TODAY'S SHOW, CHECK OUT POWERBLOCK TV DOT COM, AND LIKE ALWAYS, THANKS FOR WATCHING TRUCKS.
