(LT)>> LET'S DO IT. WE BROUGHT THIS BONE STOCK JK INTO THE SHOP FOR SOME SUSPENSION AND DRIVETRAIN UPGRADES A FEW WEEKS AGO,
AND TODAY WE'RE CONTINUING ON WITH OUR EFFORT TO MAKE THIS JEEP A MULTIPURPOSE TRAIL RIG.
(JEREMY)>> WE STARTED WITH A THREE AND A HALF INCH LIFT AND 33 INCH TIRES. THEN ADDED A CATBACK EXHAUST, COLD AIR INTAKE, AND A PROGRAMMER FOR A LITTLE KICK IN THE POWER DEPARTMENT.
(LT)>> ONE AREA OF THE JEEP THAT WE'VE YET TO UPGRADE IS THE LIGHTING. NOW THESE FACTORY HEADLAMPS, THEY DO OKAY BUT THEIR PRIMARY PURPOSE IS NOT TO BLIND ONCOMING TRAFFIC. SO WHEN YOU GET OUT ON THE TRAIL AT NIGHT, WELL YOU DON'T HAVE A VERY WIDE FIELD OF VISION. SO TO SHED A LITTLE LIGHT ON THE PROBLEM WE WENT TO RIGID INDUSTRIES AND PICKED UP THIS PILE OF PARTS, AND THE MAIN EVENT IS THIS 50 INCH RADIANCE SERIES LIGHT BAR, AND WE'RE GONNA MOUNT IT UP ABOVE THE WINDSHIELD WITH THESE OPTIONAL BRACKETS. NOW THIS PARTICULAR RADIANCE LIGHT HAS A TOTAL OUTPUT OF 15,800 LUMENS, AND WILL CAST A BEAM NEARLY THREE QUARTERS OF A MILE. SO NEEDLESS TO SAY, THIS BAD BOY IS PRETTY BRIGHT. IT'S MADE FROM THAT LEGENDARY RIGID CONSTRUCTION WITH A TOUGH POLY CARBONATE LENS AND ALUMINUM HOUSING THAT ALSO DOUBLES AS A HEAT SINK. NOW MY FAVORITE PART ABOUT THE RADIANCE LINE IS THE BACK LIGHTING. IT'S AVAILABLE IN A VARIETY OF COLORS, AND NATURALLY WE CHOSE BLUE TO GO ALONG WITH OUR JEEP. THIS 20 INCH BAR IS GONNA SIT ON OUR BUMPER, AND WE ALSO PICKED UP A PAIR OF THEIR SEVEN INCH DOT APPROVED LED HEADLAMPS. THEY'LL DROP RIGHT IN THE FACTORY LOCATION. NOW THAT'S PLENTY OF LIGHT OUT FRONT BUT
WHAT ABOUT THE BACK? WELL A SET OF THEIR SRM BACK UP LIGHTS WILL DO JUST THE TRICK. WE ALSO PICKED UP A SET OF THE BRACKETS TO GO ON THE FACTORY TAIL LIGHTS, AND OUR INSTALLATION IS GONNA START UP FRONT WITH THESE WINDSHIELD BRACKETS. THERE'S NO NEED TO DRILL INTO YOUR JEEP'S APILLAR SINCE THESE BRACKETS USE EXISTING HOLES.
THIS PROVIDED RUBBER STRIP SANDWICHES BETWEEN THE BRACKET AND THE JEEP TO PROTECT THE PAINT, AND THE SAME PROCEDURE IS REPEATED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. WITH SOME ASSISTANCE THE LIGHT BAR SLIDES INTO PLACE AND IS SECURED.

(LT)>> YEAH, WHAT WE'LL HAVE TO DO IS WE'LL POWER THIS UP AND WE'LL AIM IT, BUT IT LOOKS
PRETTY CLOSE FOR NOW.
(JEREMY)>> NEXT UP ARE THE HEADLIGHTS. TO ACCESS THEM A FEW TRIM CLIPS AND THE WHOLE GRILL IS REMOVED. I'LL LOOSEN A FEW TORX SCREWS AND THE RETAINER RING GOES, RELEASING THE HEADLIGHT. FOR LATE MODEL JEEPS THIS ANTIFLICKER MODULE PLUGS RIGHT IN PLACE. IT IS INCLUDED IN THEIR TRUCK LIGHT HEADLIGHT KIT, AND WITH THE WIRES TUCKED IN THE BRIGHTER, CRISPER LED PLUGS IN WITH NO ADDITIONAL WIRING REQUIRED.
THEN IT CAN ALL GO BACK TOGETHER.
WE'LL WAIT UNTIL WE GET THE JEEP OUTSIDE TO AIM THEM PROPERLY. HEY EASY THERE.
(LT)>> I THOUGHT IT WAS THE OTHER KIND OF HOOD. THE 20 INCH RADIANCE BAR IS UP NEXT. WE'LL MOUNT IT DIRECTLY TO THE BUMPER. SO WITH SOME CAREFUL MEASUREMENTS WE CAN MARK THE HOLES.

(LT)>> I'LL REACH UNDERNEATH AND TIGHTEN UP ALL THE HARDWARE, AND THEN MOVE ON TO THE REAR FOR THE BACK UP LIGHTS.
SET THE BRACKET ON TOP OF THE TAILLIGHT AND MARK FOR THREE HOLES AND ALSO FOR THE NOTCH FOR THE WIRING. REMOVE THE TAILLIGHT FROM THE JEEP AND DRILL OUT THE HOLES PREVIOUSLY MARKED. I'LL USE A CARBIDE BURR TO MAKE A NOTCH FOR THE RIGID'S WIRE HARNESS TO PASS THROUGH.
USING THE PROVIDED HARDWARE, ATTACH THE BRACKET TO THE TAILLIGHT. THEN INSTALL THE SRM LIGHT TO THE BRACKET. NOW WE'VE GOT OUR LIGHTS ALL MOUNTED UP, BUT BEFORE WE REINSTALL THE TAILLIGHTS INTO THE JEEP WE'VE GOT TO THINK ABOUT HOW WE'RE GONNA GET ELECTRICITY TO OUR NEW BACK UP LIGHTS. NOW THE KIT ACTUALLY COMES WITH THIS HEAVY DUTY HARNESS AND IS PRETERMINATED, AND HAS
BUILT IN FUSES, THESE NICE WEATHER PROOF CONNECTORS, AND A HEAVY DUTY RELAY, AND WE'RE GONNA START BY MAKING A SLIT IN SOME OF THE GROMMETS AND PASSING THE HARNESS THROUGH. BECAUSE OUR NEW RIGID LIGHTS ARE GONNA ACT AS REVERSE LIGHTS, WE NEED TO FIND A WIRE THAT WILL
APPLY VOLTAGE TO THE RELAY TO TURN THE HEAVY DUTY LIGHTS ON WHEN THE TRUCK IS SWITCHED INTO REVERSE. NOW WIRING CAN BE A LITTLE BIT INTIMIDATING, BUT IF
YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TOOLS IT'S ACTUALLY NOT SO BAD. I NEED TO FIND WHICH ONE OF THESE WIRES RECEIVES 12 VOLTS WHEN THE JEEP IS SWITCHED INTO REVERSE, AND I THINK I ALREADY KNOW WHICH ONE IT IS, THIS WHITE WIRE. JEREMY SWITCH IT TO REVERSE FOR ME.
ALRIGHT WE'VE GOT VOLTS, PUT IT BACK TO PARK AND IT GOES AWAY. SO WE KNOW THAT THIS WHITE WIRE IS THE ONE WE NEED TO TAP INTO. STRIP A SECTION OF WIRE FROM THE REVERSE LEAD ABOUT A HALF AN INCH LONG. FIRST I'LL TIN THE CONNECTION WITH SOME SOLDER. THEN I'LL WRAP THE NEW WIRE AROUND IT AND SOLDER THEM ALL TOGETHER. PROTECT THE JOINT WITH SOME ELECTRICAL TAPE, PLUG IN ALL THE CONNECTIONS, AND REINSTALL THE TAILLIGHT.
THE WIRES ARE ROUTED UNDERNEATH THE CARPET ALL THE WAY TO THE FRONT WHERE WE'LL CONNECT EVERYTHING UP. WE HAVE ALL THE INDIVIDUAL WIRING HARNESSES RUN UP UNDERNEATH THE DASHBOARD WHERE WE'LL CONNECT THEM TO THIS HANDY SWITCH PANEL WE PICKED UP, AND HERE'S HOW IT'S GONNA WORK. THE FIRST SWITCH WILL CONTROL THE WINDSHIELD BAR ON AND OFF. THE SECOND ONE CONTROLS THE BUMPER BAR. THE THIRD SWITCH IS FOR THE BLUE BACK LIGHTING ON BOTH BARS AT THE SAME TIME, AND THE FOURTH IS A MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH THAT CONTROLS THE REVERSE LIGHTS. ONE POSITION ALLOWS THEM TO COME ON WHEN YOU SHIFT THE JEEP INTO REVERSE, ONE POSITION OVERRIDES THEM ALL TOGETHER SO THEY NEVER COME ON, AND ONE POSITION ALLOWS YOU TO MANUALLY TURN THEM ON WHENEVER YOU WANT. NOW THESE SWITCHES ARE PRETTY SIMPLE TO HOOK UP.
YOU HAVE ONE POWER WIRE COMING IN AND ONE WIRE GOING OUT TO POWER THE INDIVIDUAL ACCESSORY. NOW THE THIRD POST IS FOR A GROUND THAT ALLOWS THE BACK LIGHT TO COME ON ON FRONT OF THE SWITCH. AFTER THAT IT'S JUST PLUG AND PLAY. NOW THIS IS ACTUALLY PRETTY SIMPLE TO INSTALL. RIGID INCLUDES THESE HANDY INSTRUCTIONS SO YOU'RE NOT ON YOUR OWN. AFTER THAT IT'S A PIECE OF CAKE.
CONNECT ALL THE WIRES TO THEIR APPROPRIATE PLACES. JUST LIKE THAT, READY TO ROLL.

(JEREMY)>> IF YOU WANT AN OPEN AIR EXPERIENCE IN YOUR HARD TOP '07 TO '16 WRANGLER, YOU'D HAVE TO GO OUTSIDE YOUR JEEP, REMOVE AND STORE THESE FREEDOM PANELS JUST SO YOU CAN FEEL THE SUN ON YOUR FAST. WELL BESTOP HAS COME OUT WITH SOMETHING NEW THAT LETS YOU TURN YOUR HARD TOP JEEP INTO A CONVERTIBLE WITHOUT EVER LEAVING THE FRONT SEAT. THIS IS THEIR SUN RIDER FOR HARD TOP. IT FEATURES OEM QUALITY MATERIAL THAT REPLACES THE FACTORY PANELS WITH NO DRILLING REQUIRED. ALL YOU NEED FOR INSTALLATION A RAZOR BLADE AND AN ALLEN WRENCH. BECAUSE WE HAVE A FOUR DOOR WRANGLER, YOU NEED TO MAKE TWO SLITS IN THE SPORT BAR PADDING SO THE REAR ATTACHMENT KNOBS WILL POKE THROUGH. INSTALL THE DOOR SURROUNDS ON BOTH SIDES AND SCREW IN ONLY THE FRONT KNOB, BUT LEAVE THEM LOOSE. THE DECK ASSEMBLY IS NEXT. IT RESTS ON TOP OF THE SPORT BAR PADDING. BOTH REAR KNOBS LINE UP WITH THE FOOT PADS. THE MUSHROOM KNOBS OFF THE HARD TOP PANELS ARE REINSTALLED AND THE SOUND BAR LOOSELY. USING A FOUR MILLIMETER ALLEN WRENCH, INSTALL THE FLANGE SCREW THROUGH THE DOOR RAIL INTO THE METAL BRACKET ON BOTH SIDES. THE SUPPLIED REAR BRACKETS ARE NEXT WITH TWO MORE SCREWS TO SECURE THEM. THEN ALL THE KNOBS CAN BE TIGHTENED DOWN AND WE CAN TEST IT OUT.
PROBABLY THE EASIEST TOP I'VE EVER INSTALLED. LET'S SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE OUT HERE. OH MAN THAT'S NICE.
(LT)>> YOUR COOLING SYSTEM IS THE LIFEBLOOD OF THE ENGINE BECAUSE COMBUSTION TEMPERATURES CAN REACH NEARLY 2,000 DEGREES. NOW FOR THE LAST CENTURY OR SO MOST GAS AND DIESEL ENGINES USE A LIQUID BASED OF 50 PERCENT WATER AND 50
PERCENT ETHYLENE GLYCOL TO REMOVE THAT EXCESS HEAT, PREVENTING AN ENGINE MELTDOWN. THE PROBLEM IS WATER BOILS AT ROUGHLY THE SAME TEMPERATURES THAT MOST ENGINES OPERATE, AND BY NATURE CAN CAUSE CORROSION AND ELECTROLYSIS, WHICH OVER TIME CAN KILL YOUR COOLING SYSTEM'S THERMAL EFFICIENCY. THIS IS EVANS HIGH PERFORMANCE WATERLESS ENGINE COOLANT, AND IT'S THE ONLY COOLANT AVAILABLE
ON THE MARKET THAT DOESN'T CONTAIN ANY WATER. SO AT YOUR ENGINE'S OPERATING TEMPERATURE IT WON'T BOIL AND THERE'S ZERO RISK OF A VAPOR BARRIER FORMING BETWEEN THE COOLANT AND YOUR ENGINE'S METAL.
NOW OUR JEEP IS GONNA SPEND SOME TIME ON THE TRAIL. IT'LL BE SLOWER SPEEDS FOR POTENTIALLY LONG PERIODS OF TIME.
SO WE'RE GONNA SWAP OUT THAT 50-50 WITH EVANS AND WE HAVE A COOL TOOL TO SHOW YOU HOW TO DO IT. TO EVACUATE ALL THE WATER FROM THE SYSTEM WE BORROWED THIS MOLY MULTIPLE COOLANT EXCHANGE MACHINE YOU'D FIND AT YOUR LOCAL REPAIR SHOP, BUT IF YOU'RE DOING THIS AT HOME YOU CAN USE YOUR SHOP VAC TO DO THE SAME THING BY OPENING UP THE BLOCK DRAINS AND BLOWING OUT ALL THE WATER, LIKE THEY DID IN ENGINE POWER A WHILE BACK. THIS MACHINE USES YOUR VEHICLE'S BATTERY AND A SMALL ELECTRIC PUMP TO PUSH OUT THE OLD COOLANT AND REPLACE IT WITH NEW. FIRST THE UPPER RADIATOR HOSE IS REMOVED, AND THE MACHINE IS CONNECTED WITH ADAPTERS AND HOSES PLUGGED. WE'LL FILL A CONTAINER WITH EVANS PREP FLUID, WHICH IS DESIGNED TO FLUSH ALL THE ANTIFREEZE OUT. IT ATTACHES TO THE MACHINE AND THE PROCESS BEGINS. WHEN THE FLUID COMING OUT TURNS FROM PINK TO CLEAR YOU KNOW THERE IS NO 50-50 LEFT IN THE SYSTEM. NOW I CAN FILL A SECOND CONTAINER WITH EVANS WATERLESS, CONNECT IT, AND REPEAT THE PROCESS. AFTER THAT WE'LL START THE JEEP AND LET IT RUN FOR A WHILE. THEN WE'LL CHECK THE WATER CONTENT IN THE SYSTEM. WE SHOULD HAVE VERY LITTLE. IF EVERYTHING'S GOOD, WE'LL TAKE THE JEEP OUT FOR A TEST DRIVE. TO VERIFY A LITMUS TEST IS DONE TO CHECK FOR ANY LEFTOVER WATER CONTENT. LIGHT GREEN MEANS WE'RE GOOD TO GO AND WE CAN BUTTON IT BACK UP. ONE THING TO KEEP IN MIND. IF YOU'RE OUT ON THE TRAIL AND BUST A HOSE AND SOME EVANS LEAKS OUT, AVOID THE URGE TO TOP
IT OFF WITH WATER. THAT WILL REDUCE ITS EFFECTIVENESS. THE NICE THING ABOUT EVANS WATERLESS COOLANT, IT'LL LAST THE LIFETIME OF YOUR ENGINE AND THERE'S NO MORE FLUSHING AND NO MORE CHANGING.

(JEREMY)>> WE TOOK YOU THROUGH STEP BY STEP OF LAYING DOWN COLOR ON OUR F-100. NOW WE CAN SHIFT OUR ATTENTION TO THE BED FLOOR. WE COULD FINISH OUT THESE WOOD PLANKS IN THE TRADITIONAL WAY BY LAYING DOWN A WOOD STAIN AND WE WOULD END UP WITH A PRETTY NICE POLYURETHANE FINISH, OR WE COULD TRY SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT. THIS IS DUPLICOLOR'S PAINT SHOP LINE OF AUTOMOTIVE PAINTS, AND THE TABLE UNDERNEATH THESE
CANS LOOKS LIKE IT'S BEEN STAINED BUT IT'S ACTUALLY BEEN FINISHED OUT WITH THESE SAME PRODUCTS. NOW I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING. HE'S ABOUT FINISH OUT THESE WOOD PLANKS WITH AN AUTOMOTIVE PAINT, BUT I'M HERE TO TELL YOU. IF YOU WANT TO ADD A CUSTOM TOUCH TO YOUR TRUCK, THIS IS THE WAY TO GO. PLUS THEY HAVE ABOUT EVERY COLOR UNDER THE SUN. NOW I'VE BEEN EXPERIMENTING WITH THESE PRODUCTS FOR QUITE A WHILE AND I'VE COME UP WITH A PRETTY GOOD TECHNIQUE THAT WILL GIVE US A GREAT RESULT AND BE VERY INEXPENSIVE. LET'S GET STARTED. I'LL FIRST GO OVER THE BOARDS WITH 320 GRIT ON A DA. WE WANT TO ENSURE THAT THEY'RE GOOD AND FLAT, AND THAT OUR PAINT WILL HAVE GOOD ADHESION TO THE WOOD. I'LL MAKE SURE THE BOARDS ARE CLEAN. THEN RUN OVER THEM WITH A TACK RAG TO PICK UP ANY DIRT, AND WE'RE READY TO LAY DOWN SOME BASE. THE PAINT SHOP FINISH SYSTEM IS A LACQUER BASED PAINT THAT YOU CAN SHOOT RIGHT OUT OF THE CAN, NO REDUCER REQUIRED. I CHOSE MINERAL GRAY. IT WAS THE CLOSEST MATCH TO THE GRAY I SPRAYED ON THE TRUCK'S INTERIOR, FRAME, AND THE HOOD. NOW THIS IS WHERE I'M GOING TO DO SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT. INSTEAD OF SPRAYING THE BASE WITH A GUN, I'M GONNA BRUSH IT ON LIKE YOU WOULD A STAIN. THIS WAY I CAN CONTROL THE AMOUNT OF PAINT BEING LAID DOWN BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO COVER THE WOOD IN SOLID GRAY. I WANT IT TO HAVE A RUSTIC LOOK, SIMILAR TO WHAT YOU WOULD SEE ON OLD BARN WOOD, AND I'LL DO THIS IN STAGES. PAINT A SMALL SECTION, THEN WIPE IT DOWN USING SCOTT HEAVY DUTY SHOP TOWELS. I JUST WANT A THIN LAYER OF PAINT, AND USING THE SAME PROCESS AS IF I WAS USING A TYPICAL WOOD STAIN, I CAN CONTROL THE AMOUNT OF PAINT THAT IS ABSORBED INTO THE WOOD.
YOU CAN SEE THE METAL FLAKES DANCING AROUND IN THE CAN, AND ONCE WE LAY THIS DOWN ON OUR WOOD IT'LL REALLY MAKE IT POP. NOW THAT OUR PAINT'S DRIED FOR ABOUT AN HOUR, I'M GONNA RUB OVER THE WOOD WITH A RED SCOTCH BRITE PAD. IT OUGHT TO TAKE DOWN SOME OF THIS BASE AND LET SOME OF THAT BARE WOOD SHOW BACK THROUGH, JUST TO GET
THAT LOOK I'M GOING FOR. NOW KEEP IN MIND YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU WANT HERE. THESE ARE JUST SMALL CUSTOM TOUCHES TO GET A UNIQUE LOOK.
SO DON'T BE AFRAID TO PLAY AROUND WITH IT A LITTLE BIT. TRY DIFFERENT TYPES OF PAINT BRUSHES. YOU CAN SPRAY IT OUT OF A PAINT GUN. YOU CAN EVEN USE CANDY PAINTS AND, WELL JUST LET YOUR IMAGINATION GO WITH IT. IT'S ENDLESS WHAT YOU CAN DO. AND HEY, IF YOU MESS IT UP, NO BIG DEAL, PAINT IT AGAIN AND KEEP AT IT. TO TOP COAT OUR WOOD I'M USING DUPLICOLOR'S MATTE FINISH CLEAR COAT. IT'LL GIVE THE INSIDE OF OUR BED A NICE, CLEAN LOOK. AND TODAY WE'RE CONTINUING ON WITH OUR EFFORT TO MAKE THIS JEEP A MULTIPURPOSE TRAIL RIG.
(JEREMY)>> WE STARTED WITH A THREE AND A HALF INCH LIFT AND 33 INCH TIRES. THEN ADDED A CATBACK EXHAUST, COLD AIR INTAKE, AND A PROGRAMMER FOR A LITTLE KICK IN THE POWER DEPARTMENT.
(LT)>> ONE AREA OF THE JEEP THAT WE'VE YET TO UPGRADE IS THE LIGHTING. NOW THESE FACTORY HEADLAMPS, THEY DO OKAY BUT THEIR PRIMARY PURPOSE IS NOT TO BLIND ONCOMING TRAFFIC. SO WHEN YOU GET OUT ON THE TRAIL AT NIGHT, WELL YOU DON'T HAVE A VERY WIDE FIELD OF VISION. SO TO SHED A LITTLE LIGHT ON THE PROBLEM WE WENT TO RIGID INDUSTRIES AND PICKED UP THIS PILE OF PARTS, AND THE MAIN EVENT IS THIS 50 INCH RADIANCE SERIES LIGHT BAR, AND WE'RE GONNA MOUNT IT UP ABOVE THE WINDSHIELD WITH THESE OPTIONAL BRACKETS. NOW THIS PARTICULAR RADIANCE LIGHT HAS A TOTAL OUTPUT OF 15,800 LUMENS, AND WILL CAST A BEAM NEARLY THREE QUARTERS OF A MILE. SO NEEDLESS TO SAY, THIS BAD BOY IS PRETTY BRIGHT. IT'S MADE FROM THAT LEGENDARY RIGID CONSTRUCTION WITH A TOUGH POLY CARBONATE LENS AND ALUMINUM HOUSING THAT ALSO DOUBLES AS A HEAT SINK. NOW MY FAVORITE PART ABOUT THE RADIANCE LINE IS THE BACK LIGHTING. IT'S AVAILABLE IN A VARIETY OF COLORS, AND NATURALLY WE CHOSE BLUE TO GO ALONG WITH OUR JEEP. THIS 20 INCH BAR IS GONNA SIT ON OUR BUMPER, AND WE ALSO PICKED UP A PAIR OF THEIR SEVEN INCH DOT APPROVED LED HEADLAMPS. THEY'LL DROP RIGHT IN THE FACTORY LOCATION. NOW THAT'S PLENTY OF LIGHT OUT FRONT BUT
WHAT ABOUT THE BACK? WELL A SET OF THEIR SRM BACK UP LIGHTS WILL DO JUST THE TRICK. WE ALSO PICKED UP A SET OF THE BRACKETS TO GO ON THE FACTORY TAIL LIGHTS, AND OUR INSTALLATION IS GONNA START UP FRONT WITH THESE WINDSHIELD BRACKETS. THERE'S NO NEED TO DRILL INTO YOUR JEEP'S APILLAR SINCE THESE BRACKETS USE EXISTING HOLES.
THIS PROVIDED RUBBER STRIP SANDWICHES BETWEEN THE BRACKET AND THE JEEP TO PROTECT THE PAINT, AND THE SAME PROCEDURE IS REPEATED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. WITH SOME ASSISTANCE THE LIGHT BAR SLIDES INTO PLACE AND IS SECURED.

(JEREMY)>> NEXT UP ARE THE HEADLIGHTS. TO ACCESS THEM A FEW TRIM CLIPS AND THE WHOLE GRILL IS REMOVED. I'LL LOOSEN A FEW TORX SCREWS AND THE RETAINER RING GOES, RELEASING THE HEADLIGHT. FOR LATE MODEL JEEPS THIS ANTIFLICKER MODULE PLUGS RIGHT IN PLACE. IT IS INCLUDED IN THEIR TRUCK LIGHT HEADLIGHT KIT, AND WITH THE WIRES TUCKED IN THE BRIGHTER, CRISPER LED PLUGS IN WITH NO ADDITIONAL WIRING REQUIRED.
THEN IT CAN ALL GO BACK TOGETHER.
WE'LL WAIT UNTIL WE GET THE JEEP OUTSIDE TO AIM THEM PROPERLY. HEY EASY THERE.

SET THE BRACKET ON TOP OF THE TAILLIGHT AND MARK FOR THREE HOLES AND ALSO FOR THE NOTCH FOR THE WIRING. REMOVE THE TAILLIGHT FROM THE JEEP AND DRILL OUT THE HOLES PREVIOUSLY MARKED. I'LL USE A CARBIDE BURR TO MAKE A NOTCH FOR THE RIGID'S WIRE HARNESS TO PASS THROUGH.
USING THE PROVIDED HARDWARE, ATTACH THE BRACKET TO THE TAILLIGHT. THEN INSTALL THE SRM LIGHT TO THE BRACKET. NOW WE'VE GOT OUR LIGHTS ALL MOUNTED UP, BUT BEFORE WE REINSTALL THE TAILLIGHTS INTO THE JEEP WE'VE GOT TO THINK ABOUT HOW WE'RE GONNA GET ELECTRICITY TO OUR NEW BACK UP LIGHTS. NOW THE KIT ACTUALLY COMES WITH THIS HEAVY DUTY HARNESS AND IS PRETERMINATED, AND HAS
BUILT IN FUSES, THESE NICE WEATHER PROOF CONNECTORS, AND A HEAVY DUTY RELAY, AND WE'RE GONNA START BY MAKING A SLIT IN SOME OF THE GROMMETS AND PASSING THE HARNESS THROUGH. BECAUSE OUR NEW RIGID LIGHTS ARE GONNA ACT AS REVERSE LIGHTS, WE NEED TO FIND A WIRE THAT WILL
APPLY VOLTAGE TO THE RELAY TO TURN THE HEAVY DUTY LIGHTS ON WHEN THE TRUCK IS SWITCHED INTO REVERSE. NOW WIRING CAN BE A LITTLE BIT INTIMIDATING, BUT IF
YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TOOLS IT'S ACTUALLY NOT SO BAD. I NEED TO FIND WHICH ONE OF THESE WIRES RECEIVES 12 VOLTS WHEN THE JEEP IS SWITCHED INTO REVERSE, AND I THINK I ALREADY KNOW WHICH ONE IT IS, THIS WHITE WIRE. JEREMY SWITCH IT TO REVERSE FOR ME.
ALRIGHT WE'VE GOT VOLTS, PUT IT BACK TO PARK AND IT GOES AWAY. SO WE KNOW THAT THIS WHITE WIRE IS THE ONE WE NEED TO TAP INTO. STRIP A SECTION OF WIRE FROM THE REVERSE LEAD ABOUT A HALF AN INCH LONG. FIRST I'LL TIN THE CONNECTION WITH SOME SOLDER. THEN I'LL WRAP THE NEW WIRE AROUND IT AND SOLDER THEM ALL TOGETHER. PROTECT THE JOINT WITH SOME ELECTRICAL TAPE, PLUG IN ALL THE CONNECTIONS, AND REINSTALL THE TAILLIGHT.
THE WIRES ARE ROUTED UNDERNEATH THE CARPET ALL THE WAY TO THE FRONT WHERE WE'LL CONNECT EVERYTHING UP. WE HAVE ALL THE INDIVIDUAL WIRING HARNESSES RUN UP UNDERNEATH THE DASHBOARD WHERE WE'LL CONNECT THEM TO THIS HANDY SWITCH PANEL WE PICKED UP, AND HERE'S HOW IT'S GONNA WORK. THE FIRST SWITCH WILL CONTROL THE WINDSHIELD BAR ON AND OFF. THE SECOND ONE CONTROLS THE BUMPER BAR. THE THIRD SWITCH IS FOR THE BLUE BACK LIGHTING ON BOTH BARS AT THE SAME TIME, AND THE FOURTH IS A MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH THAT CONTROLS THE REVERSE LIGHTS. ONE POSITION ALLOWS THEM TO COME ON WHEN YOU SHIFT THE JEEP INTO REVERSE, ONE POSITION OVERRIDES THEM ALL TOGETHER SO THEY NEVER COME ON, AND ONE POSITION ALLOWS YOU TO MANUALLY TURN THEM ON WHENEVER YOU WANT. NOW THESE SWITCHES ARE PRETTY SIMPLE TO HOOK UP.
YOU HAVE ONE POWER WIRE COMING IN AND ONE WIRE GOING OUT TO POWER THE INDIVIDUAL ACCESSORY. NOW THE THIRD POST IS FOR A GROUND THAT ALLOWS THE BACK LIGHT TO COME ON ON FRONT OF THE SWITCH. AFTER THAT IT'S JUST PLUG AND PLAY. NOW THIS IS ACTUALLY PRETTY SIMPLE TO INSTALL. RIGID INCLUDES THESE HANDY INSTRUCTIONS SO YOU'RE NOT ON YOUR OWN. AFTER THAT IT'S A PIECE OF CAKE.
CONNECT ALL THE WIRES TO THEIR APPROPRIATE PLACES. JUST LIKE THAT, READY TO ROLL.

WELL BESTOP HAS COME OUT WITH SOMETHING NEW THAT LETS YOU TURN YOUR HARD TOP JEEP INTO A CONVERTIBLE WITHOUT EVER LEAVING THE FRONT SEAT. THIS IS THEIR SUN RIDER FOR HARD TOP. IT FEATURES OEM QUALITY MATERIAL THAT REPLACES THE FACTORY PANELS WITH NO DRILLING REQUIRED. ALL YOU NEED FOR INSTALLATION A RAZOR BLADE AND AN ALLEN WRENCH. BECAUSE WE HAVE A FOUR DOOR WRANGLER, YOU NEED TO MAKE TWO SLITS IN THE SPORT BAR PADDING SO THE REAR ATTACHMENT KNOBS WILL POKE THROUGH. INSTALL THE DOOR SURROUNDS ON BOTH SIDES AND SCREW IN ONLY THE FRONT KNOB, BUT LEAVE THEM LOOSE. THE DECK ASSEMBLY IS NEXT. IT RESTS ON TOP OF THE SPORT BAR PADDING. BOTH REAR KNOBS LINE UP WITH THE FOOT PADS. THE MUSHROOM KNOBS OFF THE HARD TOP PANELS ARE REINSTALLED AND THE SOUND BAR LOOSELY. USING A FOUR MILLIMETER ALLEN WRENCH, INSTALL THE FLANGE SCREW THROUGH THE DOOR RAIL INTO THE METAL BRACKET ON BOTH SIDES. THE SUPPLIED REAR BRACKETS ARE NEXT WITH TWO MORE SCREWS TO SECURE THEM. THEN ALL THE KNOBS CAN BE TIGHTENED DOWN AND WE CAN TEST IT OUT.
PROBABLY THE EASIEST TOP I'VE EVER INSTALLED. LET'S SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE OUT HERE. OH MAN THAT'S NICE.
(LT)>> YOUR COOLING SYSTEM IS THE LIFEBLOOD OF THE ENGINE BECAUSE COMBUSTION TEMPERATURES CAN REACH NEARLY 2,000 DEGREES. NOW FOR THE LAST CENTURY OR SO MOST GAS AND DIESEL ENGINES USE A LIQUID BASED OF 50 PERCENT WATER AND 50
PERCENT ETHYLENE GLYCOL TO REMOVE THAT EXCESS HEAT, PREVENTING AN ENGINE MELTDOWN. THE PROBLEM IS WATER BOILS AT ROUGHLY THE SAME TEMPERATURES THAT MOST ENGINES OPERATE, AND BY NATURE CAN CAUSE CORROSION AND ELECTROLYSIS, WHICH OVER TIME CAN KILL YOUR COOLING SYSTEM'S THERMAL EFFICIENCY. TO EVACUATE ALL THE WATER FROM THE SYSTEM WE BORROWED THIS MOLY MULTIPLE COOLANT EXCHANGE MACHINE YOU'D FIND AT YOUR LOCAL REPAIR SHOP, BUT IF YOU'RE DOING THIS AT HOME YOU CAN USE YOUR SHOP VAC TO DO THE SAME THING BY OPENING UP THE BLOCK DRAINS AND BLOWING OUT ALL THE WATER, LIKE THEY DID IN ENGINE POWER A WHILE BACK. THIS MACHINE USES YOUR VEHICLE'S BATTERY AND A SMALL ELECTRIC PUMP TO PUSH OUT THE OLD COOLANT AND REPLACE IT WITH NEW. FIRST THE UPPER RADIATOR HOSE IS REMOVED, AND THE MACHINE IS CONNECTED WITH ADAPTERS AND HOSES PLUGGED. WE'LL FILL A CONTAINER WITH EVANS PREP FLUID, WHICH IS DESIGNED TO FLUSH ALL THE ANTIFREEZE OUT. IT ATTACHES TO THE MACHINE AND THE PROCESS BEGINS. WHEN THE FLUID COMING OUT TURNS FROM PINK TO CLEAR YOU KNOW THERE IS NO 50-50 LEFT IN THE SYSTEM. NOW I CAN FILL A SECOND CONTAINER WITH EVANS WATERLESS, CONNECT IT, AND REPEAT THE PROCESS. THIS IS DUPLICOLOR'S PAINT SHOP LINE OF AUTOMOTIVE PAINTS, AND THE TABLE UNDERNEATH THESE
CANS LOOKS LIKE IT'S BEEN STAINED BUT IT'S ACTUALLY BEEN FINISHED OUT WITH THESE SAME PRODUCTS. NOW I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING. HE'S ABOUT FINISH OUT THESE WOOD PLANKS WITH AN AUTOMOTIVE PAINT, BUT I'M HERE TO TELL YOU. IF YOU WANT TO ADD A CUSTOM TOUCH TO YOUR TRUCK, THIS IS THE WAY TO GO. PLUS THEY HAVE ABOUT EVERY COLOR UNDER THE SUN. NOW I'VE BEEN EXPERIMENTING WITH THESE PRODUCTS FOR QUITE A WHILE AND I'VE COME UP WITH A PRETTY GOOD TECHNIQUE THAT WILL GIVE US A GREAT RESULT AND BE VERY INEXPENSIVE. LET'S GET STARTED. I'LL FIRST GO OVER THE BOARDS WITH 320 GRIT ON A DA. WE WANT TO ENSURE THAT THEY'RE GOOD AND FLAT, AND THAT OUR PAINT WILL HAVE GOOD ADHESION TO THE WOOD. I'LL MAKE SURE THE BOARDS ARE CLEAN. THEN RUN OVER THEM WITH A TACK RAG TO PICK UP ANY DIRT, AND WE'RE READY TO LAY DOWN SOME BASE. THE PAINT SHOP FINISH SYSTEM IS A LACQUER BASED PAINT THAT YOU CAN SHOOT RIGHT OUT OF THE CAN, NO REDUCER REQUIRED. I CHOSE MINERAL GRAY. IT WAS THE CLOSEST MATCH TO THE GRAY I SPRAYED ON THE TRUCK'S INTERIOR, FRAME, AND THE HOOD. NOW THIS IS WHERE I'M GOING TO DO SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT. INSTEAD OF SPRAYING THE BASE WITH A GUN, I'M GONNA BRUSH IT ON LIKE YOU WOULD A STAIN. THIS WAY I CAN CONTROL THE AMOUNT OF PAINT BEING LAID DOWN BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO COVER THE WOOD IN SOLID GRAY. I WANT IT TO HAVE A RUSTIC LOOK, SIMILAR TO WHAT YOU WOULD SEE ON OLD BARN WOOD, AND I'LL DO THIS IN STAGES. PAINT A SMALL SECTION, THEN WIPE IT DOWN USING SCOTT HEAVY DUTY SHOP TOWELS. I JUST WANT A THIN LAYER OF PAINT, AND USING THE SAME PROCESS AS IF I WAS USING A TYPICAL WOOD STAIN, I CAN CONTROL THE AMOUNT OF PAINT THAT IS ABSORBED INTO THE WOOD.
YOU CAN SEE THE METAL FLAKES DANCING AROUND IN THE CAN, AND ONCE WE LAY THIS DOWN ON OUR WOOD IT'LL REALLY MAKE IT POP. NOW THAT OUR PAINT'S DRIED FOR ABOUT AN HOUR, I'M GONNA RUB OVER THE WOOD WITH A RED SCOTCH BRITE PAD. IT OUGHT TO TAKE DOWN SOME OF THIS BASE AND LET SOME OF THAT BARE WOOD SHOW BACK THROUGH, JUST TO GET
THAT LOOK I'M GOING FOR. NOW KEEP IN MIND YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU WANT HERE. THESE ARE JUST SMALL CUSTOM TOUCHES TO GET A UNIQUE LOOK.
SO DON'T BE AFRAID TO PLAY AROUND WITH IT A LITTLE BIT. TRY DIFFERENT TYPES OF PAINT BRUSHES. YOU CAN SPRAY IT OUT OF A PAINT GUN. YOU CAN EVEN USE CANDY PAINTS AND, WELL JUST LET YOUR IMAGINATION GO WITH IT. IT'S ENDLESS WHAT YOU CAN DO. AND HEY, IF YOU MESS IT UP, NO BIG DEAL, PAINT IT AGAIN AND KEEP AT IT. TO TOP COAT OUR WOOD I'M USING DUPLICOLOR'S MATTE FINISH CLEAR COAT. IT'LL GIVE THE INSIDE OF OUR BED A NICE, CLEAN LOOK. NOT ONLY THAT, IF WE HAPPENED TO GET CAUGHT OUT IN A RAIN STORM OR ANYTHING, THIS'LL HELP TO BEAD OFF ANY WATER SO THE WOOD'S NOT ABSORBING IT, AND A COOL FEATURE TO THIS PAINT IS THERE'S A NO RECOAT WINDOW. SO YOU CAN GO BACK AND RECOAT THIS AT ANY TIME. AGAIN, I'LL BRUSH ON THE CLEAR, BUT JUST LIKE ALL THE DUPLICOLOR PAINT SHOP SERIES OF AUTOMOTIVE PAINTS, IT WILL ALSO APPLY WELL WITH A SPRAY GUN. AFTER TWO COATS AND 20 MINUTE DRYING TIME.
