Today. It's behind the scenes at Daytona, hot girls, cool bikes, top custom builders, even a fight demolition derby.

Hey guys, welcome to T DC and a different perspective on Bike week. I'm all neighbors. And today it's all about Daytona now for thousands of fans, it's more than just about a race. It's a party.

Bike week has been a Daytona tradition since 1937 and surprisingly little has changed over the years.

Some nice looking blondes, big Hooters

and some killer choppers

all together. I've probably been up here about 40 times. I'm always in awe in what you might see at. You never know.

It's just a good fun time. Bikers are a different breed.

Everybody thinks we're kind of raunchy because some of us grow beards and have tattoos like weeks, not just for the raunchy and tattoo.

Yeah.

Call a rub a Rich Irvin biker. You know,

some of those people that you see with the beards and the tattoos are doctors, lawyers and chiefs and they let their hair down for a week.

They work hard all year. They deserve

over 200,000 bikers made the annual pilgrimage getting to the North Florida City. Any way they could two guys ride on a motorcycle together. It's

probably,

yeah,

it may seem crazy but once here it's nothing short of motorcycle heaven

where you can find some of the most unusual bikes.

It's a 72 Honda

CB, 750.

And it's the old school, original, old school chopper. Oh, the public likes it.

Oh, the public, I've had people take pictures of them with those picture phones,

send them off to their buddies.

Uh,

yeah,

for not showing it. I feel like I'm in a show, you know, from old to new school, no matter where you go, people were showing off their goods and my boy, Tommy G was all over it. Check it out. It's crazy. Thousands of bikes in Daytona. But there's only one of these. Tell us a little bit about it. Well, it's Cadillac North Star. It's all aluminum motor makes about 350 horsepower.

It's fuel injected computers on

runs the whole motor in the tranny four speed automatic.

It runs about a 0 to 60 in about two seconds.

It's 40 miles a gallon

only weighs 170 pounds total. I've been working, developing them for about seven years.

It's the first time we've brought them out to show.

And what's the price? 48 grand this show?

What do we got here? What size motor company?

This is a 88 wing cams.

Al

Holly Davidson engine. And we made some

and carburetor works

which have about 100 horsepower.

How much does something like this go? How much does it cost bikes like that? Are 100,000?

100,000?

Is there any way you can give me one?

Can you give me one?

Now?

Tommy G was trying to get some free stuff. I was taking care of a little business.

Just got one question. How big are they?

That's what I needed. They're 12 ounces. Perfect guys. Great. We'll take four choppers,

big

stretch of down choppers. Lots of motor.

Look at it. I mean, what, what is there to say? It's the greatest

is a real feeling of uh freedom. The

love of a motorcycle is just

you ride one when you're a little boy, it never leaves you. I've been on them for 60 years and uh it's a different pleasure every time I straddle.

It's not just the love of motorcycles that attract his crowd. Lots of women.

I know, but we're going to look at more women. We're going to look at some more women.

I,

that's what I'm talking about.

Yeah,

I'm getting harassed

very well. I should be. I'm wearing this shirt.

Oh, it's beautiful. Awesome.

Go ahead.

Daytona's awesome.

Daytona man. Daytona is beautiful as you see the sunshine, the fake boots. You can't beat it. Daytona Beach.

Happy Mike, please.

For master builders like L A choppers. Johnny C Bike week is serious business.

Hell,

yeah,

the tone it is a time to show everyone else look what I've been doing on my off time.

You know, let's see what you can do next time we meet.

That's really what it is.

It's a showdown. We're trying to outdo each other.

You know, throw some of the good creative ideas

that we all come up with in the middle of the night

and we transfer those to these very, very expensive machines,

handcrafted and close to six figures. Johnny C is one of just a handful of master builders in the world. A lot of these people think, you know, you just turn a couple wrenches and poop.

You rub a couple of sticks together and you got a

$90,000 chopper.

That's not the case.

LH choppers,

man, this is something that we've been doing for over 20 years, started in our garage

with a real deal in a time of prefab everything. The people dig these one of a kind

love them. If I had some boobies, I'd be on the back of one.

Love them. Look great

when you get done with a bike and you say, you know what? That's it. That's the best I can do

for now.

That's, that's a good feeling.

Ice cold

beer

with the beer flowing. You think when nature called there'd be some problems. But my man Johnny on the spot is one of the unsung heroes of bike week. I scrub down the toilets

mop and wash the floors

this to keep everybody happy.

It's a dirty. Yeah, but the quarter of a million bikers appreciate is hard work. These guys they will look out for you

and God bless all of them.

The people are nice. The money is good.

But this whole bike week thing,

what do I think about it? I think it's crazy, to be honest with you.

You want crazy. Check out the line to meet the Orange County chopper guys.

We can't go home without an autograph. Our son won't let us

what you want and have your,

they were giddy for the guys and enjoying some of their best work. The bikes are on, bikes are

very unique. I like them. I like them artist of

the design and everything of them

just the way the metal comes up. It's

all probed out.

It's very cool.

They made great TV, out of their father, son conflict. So who better than Tommy G to try and stir the pot? What do I gotta do to get you to yell at me?

Oh, come on.

Just for,

you gotta be in the moment,

you

know, you gotta piss me off.

I don't want to get beat up. I just want you to yell at me.

You know, it's a little bit different.

They're the true meaning of bikers. They're the true meaning of bikers.

Another safe ride on two wheels in America

but the kickstand won't stand up.

Get up, sweetheart.

While there were tons of sweet Harley. This one had to be one of the rarest we saw. That's absolutely a real Harley

one of 1000 in that color and frame design.

They made a total of 5000 during 96 and 97 as a commemorative to their 19, early 1900 years.

There ain't no more of 5000 on the planet

now, if you can find them, it's whatever you can get them for.

They're anywhere from 1800 to 7000.

Great.

Too much traffic though

to escape the traffic. Just head out to the beach and prepare for Daytona at night.

Now, when the sun goes down, the city wakes up here's part two Daytona after dark

the daytime, they're out here to see what's here. They want to see all the different motorcycles when the sun goes down. It's party time

during bike week. All the action happens nightly down on main street.

Happy

2004

Daytona.

Yeah.

Yeah. Welcome to the twilight zone

where

I'm Rick Day

and this party had exactly what the bikers came for.

You. Like you got it

a

lot of motorcycles and wild women.

I

didn't have to get involved in the craziness to enjoy this show. I'm

watching all the people come by

crazy. What am I looking

at?

I'm looking at all the beautiful bi going by and all the beautiful women that are either riding them or on the back of them,

my gra are

watching the scenery,

watching all different flights down here. There's a feeling of anything goes but some things you just can't get away with

when main street becomes too much. There's always the motorcycle demo derby and stunt show.

Oh, yeah. It's nuts.

I mean, it's nuts.

Hey, it's great

love every minute of it. It's the craziest place I've ever been in a whole lot for the two

main event. These four wheel drill seekers put life and limb on the line for the fans.

They love to see fire. They love to see cars get in a wreck,

getting blown off. I mean, the more fire, the more mayhem,

the more craziness, the more they love it they put on a good show. He loves it.

He saw it a couple of years ago. He loves, he loves coming out here

going big was the junkyard dog.

We'll hit this first car about 60 miles an hour. He'll knock it up in the air, flip cart wheels and land behind you. Then you go to the next one and it hopefully jumps up in the air and you just drive under it.

Hopefully, this was his second attempt at the wall of steel. I did this, tried to do this stunt here back in October

and missed my mark

and ended up being carried off to the hospital and

I haven't done it since the trip to the hospital wasn't going to stop the junkyard dog from Destiny. If you ask me, I'm having fun. You ask my wife, I'm,

I'm trying to kill myself. It's definitely the crowd is, is the biggest thing for me. I love pleasing the fans.

I'd rather get paid $500 and work in front of 10,000 people than to get paid $1000 and work, you know, 200 he earned his keep on this night. It worked pretty good. I got a little beat on my hand when the car came down on the windshield and

actually pin my,

my hand under the windshield between the car that was, I was landing on me on my, on my steering wheel. But

hell, if that's all, that's good, man. I can live with that

big classic bike event tradition.

Couples were able to get in on the action with the Weenie competition.

The only rule bite off the biggest piece of the weed.

I'm gonna try to take it off.

I think I can handle their loot.

It may look easy, but this takes skill.

You just have to have accuracy and balance

when it comes to Weenie's Becky

Beary is experienced

and that's what helped her take the win. I got three trophies at home winning Winy bike.

I 22 years in a row.

I'm a,

I'm a happy guy.

Red sibly and his little Red deer hauler took his role as warm up act. Literally

hot air coming out of the back of this is just

subsonic. About 600 miles an hour and about 780

°C

which is about 1500

°F.

Right. It's very hot.

Comes out an F 94 star fire fighter plane. It was wild

with the crowd fired up. It was time for the craziest event during Daytona Bike week. Kids don't try this at home.

They're all volunteers out of the crowd sucker born every minute. We'll give them a bike.

There wasn't a shortage of suckers all going for the top prize.

When you win,

you get the height of stupidity. That's all

flat track raced and Motocross when I was a kid and drag race. So,

uh this is where I ended up, I guess

and no, I have no idea why it suddenly occurred to me. Hey, I need to do a bike demo. Derby.

Three rounds would determine the winner

and after the first event they were loving it. Oh, man, my heart's just pumping like crazy. I mean, it's just,

it's crazy

to the first round.

A bunch of crazy ass folks.

Wisconsin's James Watkins earned the nickname. Suicide Sideways because he wasn't afraid to take some blows or get a little blood

hauler. A

pop on my head or not. I hit the,

hey man

blacked out.

It looked like just, you know, when you hit, it's kind of

sparks and then

pretty good adrenaline rush going on out there though. I'm sweating and everything making it through to the end was the X racer. Doug Brinkley.

It was wild. It was,

it was all about the control of the bike just

quick short spins and

all that. I mean,

and there's nothing better than his flamer to cap off the knife.

Don't miss our project of the week coming up.

Welcome back to T DC. I'm Tommy G. Today we're talking performance specifically in one of the hottest cruisers available. The Yamaha road star. This is a bare knuckle brawler of a metric cruiser with classic styling and modern muscle.

100 and two cubic inches of muscle and this push rod air cooled V twin.

This bike is a serious pavement pounder

but you guys know there's no such thing as too much power.

We got a few boltons

that'll give us more.

Check it out.

This is the speed star stage two competition kit from Yamaha.

It includes a carburetor jetting kit

speeds star air cleaner assembly featuring a high flow filter and chrome plated billet cover

their competition ignition module and this two into one free flow mega cone exhaust.

I'll get ready to reject the carburetor by removing it first.

The cool thing about installing a factory performance kit,

you know, the parts will fit.

Plus they're

dyno proven for some dramatic games.

After removing the vacuum chamber cover and spring carefully pull out the diaphragm.

Next, pull the retainer to remove the stock needle.

Follow the instructions. Place the spacer on the fifth grove of the new titanium needle

and secure it with the clip.

Once it's back together,

you can remove the float bolt,

followed by the stock 165 main jet.

The replacement is the kit's larger 170 jet.

This will allow the carburetor to suck more fuel at a higher RPM

to increase the flow of fuel at low speed.

The kit replaces the 35 pilot jet with a 60.

Remember this kit is for closed course competition only

check with your state submission requirements before installing this performance package.

The kids performance air cleaner assembly bolts together using the stock housing,

the speed star ignition will raise the rev limit 1250 RPM to 50,500

as well as providing a more aggressive advanced curve.

Now we can button everything up.

The last component to the stage two kit is Yamaha's Mega Cone two into one pipe.

The engine three quarter header merged into a two and three eights full coverage heat shield

then back out into two exhaust outlets.

All right.

That sounds pretty good to me.

But what kind of games are we talking about here?

The stage two kit ups the

roads star performance 27%.

That's not bad for some simple bulldogs.

All right guys. Welcome back to T DC and a look at some of the latest new riding gear.

Now, if you're in style and comfort check out this classic riding jacket from bates leathers,

it's heavy black cotton canvas with soft armor sewn into the shoulders, back and elbows. It features snap collars and embroidered retro logos on the front and on the back, plus zippered vents for cooling and buckles that adjust the waist.

Now, they retail for 299. Now, if you ever work on your bike, you probably use old tea handle wrench. Well, now that concept has evolved. This is the Y handle from A SV inventions.

It's made of forge chrome tool steel with three socket holders. It has a textured rubber cover and comes in either half inch or 38 inch sizes.

Now, the A SV patented Y handle sells for $25. It's a great idea

how this next item is an easy way to dress up your front or rear brake calibers.

It's a high performance disc brake caliper refinishing kit from Duple color. It contains caliber cleaner, masking tape, a mixer applicator and 500 degree ceramic paint.

Kids are available in red or yellow and they retail for about $15. Well, guys, that's all for this week but join T DC. Next week,

it's ice cold action from Las Vegas with championship speedway racing on ice.

It'll be great until then ride safe.
